The two weeks prior to arriving in NZ we spent some time exploring beautiful Sydney and its surroundings. Ebba may be a bit biased (as she lived in Sydney for almost a year at 17), but this area of the world is just stunning. We’re not entirely sure that Aussies fully realize how lucky they are with stunning beaches around every corner and amazing weather for most of the year. It is no wonder Australia is a dream destinations for many Brits and Swedes.
One of our favorite days was spent with friends hiking in the Blue Mountains. The mountains is an area just a couple of hours outside of Sydney and is a popular among tourists. After visiting the must-see ‘Three Sisters’ we drove to Wentworth where we spent about five hours hiking past several waterfalls, up a great amount of stairs and past some very spectacular view points.
The area is gorgeous with varied nature, plenty of magical waterfalls and look-out points of the peaks and valleys of the mountains. Making it even better was the great company of good friends that also happen to be very knowledgable when it comes to native plants! Being shown around by “locals” is always a good idea!
